Awareness meet to understand the problems of weavers
The weaver’s community in Nalgonda has been languishing for generations. With negative social mobility the community was recording deaths due to starvation. Suicides due to non payment of consumption loans and lack of work has left the weavers
worried and dismayed about the future. The Congress government has worked towards the relief of these workers first by considering to write off the loans and to create work opportunities to them. The party wanted strong messengers to communicate this to the community and to make them understand that the government will provide a long term solution.
KRG Reddy actively got involved in the weaver’s problems as soon as he entered politics. Seeing the state of these weavers he gave them financial aid from his personal funds apart from morally supporting them and counseling them to face life without suicides. He assured them of further help and built their confidence by motivating them and supporting them financially.
KRG Reddy took up the weavers issue and took it to the highest level by organizing awareness camp for the weavers of Nalgonda District. He met various representatives of the community and got a critical view of their woes. He assured them that he will take their message to the Chief Minister and request him for speedy action.
KRG Reddy studied the situation of the weavers and presented a Memorandum to Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhara Reddy explaining their problems. He highlighted their crisis of being unable to pursue their Handloom profession due to unremunarative conditions.
CM meet to waive off 350 crores of weaver’s debt

Raja Sekhara Reddy for a solution and was instrumental for the waiver of amounting to Rs.350 Crores.
After appraising the Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhara Reddy and seeking his acceptance KRG Reddy organized a crucial meet for the weavers at Peoples Plaza,
Necklace Road in Hyderabad on 20th of October 2008 in which the Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhara Reddy Presided over as the Chief guest along with the State Home Minister Sri Jana Reddy and Finance Minister Sri.K.Rosaiah.
KRG Reddy Mobilized 20000 people on his own from the weavers community and presented the Memorandum to the Chief Minister in their presence. Speaking at the meeting KRG Reddy urged all political parties not to politicize the issue of weaver’s problems but to join the initiative’s taken by the state government for the welfare of the weavers and to support the cause of rehabilitating them.
During this meeting Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhara Reddy announced the waiver of loans amounting to Rs.350 Crore.
General Health & Eye Camps
careers highlights Health care is one of the primary concerns of the Government, yet many people below the poverty line are deprived of basic medical needs. The central and the state governments have introduced health programmes as a part of the Social development schemes.
Substantial funds have been allocated for the successful implementation of these schemes. The State Government’s Health Scheme “Arogyasri” has received commendable appreciation from all quarters and many poor people assured of their medical needs.
On the 2nd of October commemorating “Gandhi Jayanthi”, KRG Reddy organized a free medical camp in Bhuvanagiri. Nearly 2000 poor people utilized the opportunity as senior Doctors from prominent Hospitals in Hyderabad conducted checkups and tests. The programme was conducted for one full day and the endeavor was that every needy person got the medical attention. KRG Reddy coordinated the whole program by leading from the front in arranging the venue, inviting the Doctors, funding the event and motivating the party workers to ensure that the benefits reach the people. Free medicines were distributed to the people as prescribed.
Noticing that there was a wide need for eye care at remote villages in the District of Nalgonda, KRG Reedy Organized for eye camps at several places, People were screened and operated for cataract and medical support was provided for other eye ailments.

The Inauguration ceremony of the statue of Shri Rajiv Gandhi at Chalmeda is a tribute to the great man who has touched the lives of the Indian youth forever. The Prime Minister’s Rozgar yojana which was introduced by him created employment opportunities and benefited lives of thousands of Indian youth. This Programme was attended by over ten thousand party workers.
KRG Reddy unveiled the statue of Shri Rajiv Gandhi to mark the commencement of his work to create jobs for the unemployed in the District of Nalgonda. He expressed his strong commitment to develop industry in Nalgonda to create direct and indirect employment to the youth of the district.
Speaking on the occasion he said that he will foster the cause of employment right from its roots, his mission is to create employment opportunities to jobless S.C, S.T, B.C, Minority and E.B.C, youth and bring light into their families. He said that the educated youth are facing a crisis due to unemployment and that he was completely aware of this situation.
He said that the state government has already created employment across the board in the last 5 years. Further he added that notifications for new jobs in Primary, Higher educational institutes, Universities, Police department and Vaidhya vidhan Parishad have been issued.
He said that he is well connected to the spirit of the youth and shares an excellent relationship with them as he was actively involved in all social and welfare activities from his student days.
Awareness Camp about Congress Government’swelfare programmes in Andhra pradesh

On 2nd of Jan 2009 KRG Reddy received Sri D. Srinivas, President A.P.C.C at Choutuppal while Mr. D. Srinivas was proceeding to Miryalguda to participate in the Praja Abhivrudhi Sankshema yatra. Sri D. Srinivas addressed the party workers at choutuppal in the meeting organized by Sri KRG Reddy. He said that Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhara Reddy has introduced the Indiramma Housing scheme. He responded to the poor people’s medical problems with Arogyasri scheme through which people have been provided medical benefits. Dr. Reddy was moved with the suffering of the elderly and brought the Abhaya Hastham scheme which has covered over 67 lakh people under old age Pensioners scheme.
He said that Dr.Reddy has kept his responsibility of economic empowerment of women of Andhra Pradesh by bringing Pavala Vaddi Scheme and its benefits to the Women Self Help groups which has grown into a mass movement in Andhra Pradesh.There are about 6.99 lakh women Self Help Groups covering nearly 89 lakh rural poor women in Andhra Pradesh.
As per the election promise made after studying the situation of farmers, Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhara Reddy signed the first order to provide free power to farmers and continued to provide free power through the five year term.
The 2 Rupees per kg rice scheme was successfully introduced though it was not the part of the election manifesto.
KRG Reddy said that the Congress Government took cognizance of every single issue in the state and addressed them in the best possible way. He said that the challenge of course is to communicate this message effectively to the public and gain their confidence.
